Geography and Demographics: Osage Township is located in Becker County, Minnesota. The township has a total area of 35.8 square miles; 34.9 square miles is land and 0.9 square miles is water. The Straight and Shell Rivers flow southeastwardly through the township. Lakes include: Bog Lake, Straight Lake and Valines Lake. Minnesota State Highways 34 and 225 are two of the main arterial routes in the township.

Some interesting township history: Considerable settlement took place in Osage during the period of 1880-1890. The town had churches, schools, lumber mill, creamery, hardware store, post office, grocery store and several establishments.
Osage Township was created in May 1891. At that time there was a double township called Carsonville, which was separated and reorganized into two townships; western half named Carsonville and eastern half assuming the name Osage. The first special town meeting was held for the sole purpose of organizing the Town of Osage. At this meeting resolutions passed creating road districts and wages for Town Officers.
